too slow
This site is far too slow to download. I thought it might be a problem with my internet connection but newmixes downloads quickly and reliably. This site is like getting blood out of a stone. The pete tong 19-10-94 mix shows many downloads but about six of these are my failed efforts - 5kbs!! You need to get this sorted out. Promises a lot, delivers little.

there shouldn't be any reason any of the years are faster than another. all the files are on the same server, same hard drive.
i can assure you this website is running properly. i have tested it from multiple locations in my vicinity and there are also users from around the world that would attest. it may simply be your particular connection to the internet is the culprit.

there are some depressingly
there are some depressingly nasty people around. i was living way out in the outback of australia and my slow downloads were due to the poor quality of my internet connection. Theoretically fast but dropping in and out. Some websites were less likely to breakdown than others at the time.

I pride myself in having the shittiest computer on Mixriot, and I have no problems downloading things relatively quickly. Of course, quick is a relative term, if it takes longer than fifteen minutes to download a mix, then its gotta be your internet connect, maybe too many walls between you and your wireless. If it takes less than fifteen minutes, then burn one and come back, and your mix will be ready. YAAAAAAAAAY hahahaha

2 different download speeds for me
On a Mac at work (BT Broadband) (where it can be slow) the mixes absolutely fly down the pipes
At home on my PC (Virgin BroadBand) it its considerably different.
these are 12 miles away from each other.
So downloading at work wins for me.
Hope that adds to the fire of all the flamers out there lol

I have to admit that I find
I have to admit that I find this site painfully slow and it does seem to be different for different mixes however it is well worth the wait for some of the classic mixes so easily available. Besides I'm an old fart who clearly remembers the bad old days of dial up and 2/3 hour download times!

i am also finding the speed very slow but am so delighted to have found some of the old essential mixes i've had on wobbly tapes for years that it's worth the wait, no complaints here.
