DOORLY EM ROCKS
You are all crazy. Doorly knows how to rock the club. Every single mix doesn't have to be filled with innovative and original songs. The point is this mix gets the people going I mean listen to them. Is that why you think this mix sucks? Because everyone at the club is dancing to it?
Long live Bongo Dave.
DOORLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Also agree
Thought that Tongy played the better set of the two. I also agree with the principle behind this of introducing local or up and coming DJ's and giving them the exposure. With this in mind I don't know why Tong has to play an hour. Either he's an obssesive self promoter or he is showing a lack of faith in the very people he is trying to promote. The concept seems therefore flawed.
It's also not helped by the fact that Doorley played a shit set. He must have been thinking about this set for ages knowing that he was going to be live on Radio 1 and it showed. He was trying to be way too clever and original for his own good and it sounded messed up and shit. The choice of records were crap too. If I was on the dance floor for that it would have put me on a real downer. I can't understand all those that have posted on the Radio 1 website about how good this was. It worries me. As for live mixes and all the 'whooping'......
Am almost dreading next week when Judge Jules introdcues the local DJ.
Ooeefff...coming up Judge
Ooeefff...coming up Judge Judy from Inside Out@the Arches, Glasgow...ooh noes :-(
...Inside Out Room
JUDGE JULES
MARCEL WOODS
JOHN O’CALLAGHAN
BARRY CONNELL
i swear to fuck, this is yer shellsuit brigade with them white Reebok trainers..and the birds with too much fake-tan & white lycra...halps
this will be pure terror...
I'd rather hack off my own ears with a broken bottle than listen.
...what have the BBC done to the EM??
raped the shit out off it...
What a load of shite....
What a load of shite.... From start to end, NOTHING original whatsoever. Aviod as if it was Fudge Jools himself...
Sub-Justice/Soulwax/Nu-Rave mince..
This mix was broadcast as part of BBC Introducing tour...various R1 dj's presenting the best, young resident DJ's accross the land..
This Martin Doorly fella(never heard of him), plays some jump-up,grungy,mash-up traxx that were old, when they were new....and this sort of shit the BBC pedal as new music...ain't anything like new , fresh music...same shit, different smell.
Same ol' live-outside broadcast recording...with too many bawbags shouting "Here we, here we' fuckin' go"...
someone should bomb the BBC and get rid of these old, stale cunts, who take the millions in license fee..and week after week tramp out the same old shite..
fucking disgrace.
[rant mode off/]
pure class iain pure
pure class iain pure class!!!!
aye well, ...this really
aye well, ...this really fucked me off and is a prime example of how the BBC have turned the EM into a raging turd over the years.
..if grandpa Tongy thinks this guy is one of the best young resident DJ's?!?!....WTF!?!?....you can hear this sort of shit at any student type party...it's a joke.
time for pete tong to be commited to a home...
ooh...and we have another 3 weeks of this on the EM...(Judge Judy, Annie Nightingale, Annie Mac)..i'm sure they will all be equally turd-tastic...proving once & for all, the overpaid, under-achieving BBC jocks know fuck all about good music.
got to agree about the
got to agree about the resident thing,my friends been djing for years and has had a few releases on bellarine recordings and he is much better than this doorly character if his emix offering is anything to go by.who picks these residents?if its tong then how the fuck does he know about some guy from huddersfield,if hes been advised by someone then stick them fuckers in the home with tongy!
agree
very poor mix from doorly.
after 40min i stop the mix couz it has hurting my ears.
dont think i miss sometiming in the remaining 20min
in reply
yes Tong is a shameless self promoter, always has been. Would be ok if he was any good but 9 times out of 10 he is average to poor. Havent listened to the mix and after the comments I prob wont bother either. However Im a fan of live mixes I think it gives it a bit of atmosphere and reminds me of the feeling I get at live events/festivals etc. but the 'here we fucking go' thing really does my head in! It is (generally) a scottish thing though and more common at gigs that have a bit more of a chavish element like festivals compared to decent clubs.
matters not where it was
matters not where it was recorded nor wat the idiots shout(Oi, Oi...Whooping chanting, ..Here we Fuckin' go..etc)...the room noise is FAR too loud....it's like if they turn the room mic up enough, it will drown out how terrible the music is...it is shite.
...they are trying to artificially create smthing, when the music alone should speak(not the mongo's in the background)
by the end of this 'Introducing Tour'...that will be 6 weeks of live-outside broadcasts...they are donkey, always have been.
If the moronic room noise tickles you....watever, but i think you'll find not many who like the Live EM..
not always moronic
I half agree with u and half dont. Sometimes it can make it a bit shit but some of the time it adds a decent effect. It does have to be a good if not great set with an exciting and authentic atmosphere. Tanya Vulcano and Locodice EM 2005, Sasha Em 2002 at privilege. Various EM 29/09/07, Lisa Loud EM 1997 are all some that spring to mind. Hardly moronic room noise in these instances.
