Atmospheric, deep, dancefloor

As time continues to pass, one of relatively refined tastes becomes more comfortable with negative or at lest deprecating views on the vast majority of DJ sets. What apparently passes for quality mixology is executed by musically abstruse fanboys with, paradoxically, access to rather marvelous technology. Unfortunately the outcome is far from interesting: repetitively moronic machine beats, mangler Moog riffs, immoderate dollops of flatulent hissing.

After digging house & tekno for 20 years, one's entitled to call it as it is...& this set isn't all that bad. The "micro-genres" are straddled effectively, the groove never lost. Were we still the sort that got out to strut, this'd fit the bill.

Is it quality? Only time will tell but what we know for sure is that this Charlie May session is not the norm.
