When I saw the tracklist

I was like WOOHOO!....such choons and then this was a bloody letdown with just I`ll put this here. You expect better from a seasoned deejay like schulz.

Hey Now!

I like Probspot HAHAHAHAHAHA!

But... yes the mix is missing the drive and fire that it needs. Not much of a journey, but that seems to happen when you just throw a bunch of anthems together.

@ andy

Agreed also... it goes nowhere!!!

Agreed

With the above 2 comments. There are some anthems on here as Andy Mentions.. Xpander, The Fade, Galaxia , Dream Universe. They hold this set , just about. Its put together poorly as RichardFT2007 mentions. I'ts average at best.... Craig A done a better job i think!

Eugh!

Listening now, and have to agree. The tracks are great, but its sounds like my granny mixed it in terms of the way it doesn't flow right. Love the Jammy Spoon though. First bought this in 94 on that Cream album. The one that had a spaceship on the front.

plastic boy - silver bath

used to love this tune, epic peak time trancer! good track selection but poor order choice imo, could have created a storming last 60mins if he chose to.

The mix is lifeless, I agree with Gareth

I listened to this twice. Its lifeless and I am not 100% sure why. Its wicked tunes (bar probspot, armin fave) and the mixing is flawless but something is missing. I found it apparent in the mix into Shine (Oakenfold fave), seems a lack of energy and something else. Was it supposed to be a desyn masiello style, where he rarely goes 2bpm from where he starts. You get into Gamemaster and it should be building and building towards the peak but it seems like a train going nowhere, stuck in the station.

I agree with Gareth, its not a lack of class tunes (bar probspot) or mixing but Markus failed to put any life into this mix and it is apparent.

tho probspot?

That the fuck is that pile of shit doing in a classics mix?. I hated the track when it was released and yes I know it was a Schulz fave but its a piece of shit.

such fucking tunes tilt -

such fucking tunes

tilt - children (tilt's courtyard mix)....best version
Everytime
Pearl River
gamemaster

Tho I find the best track on there was the overlooked but dave seaman fave, along with sasha

Dollshead - its over, its under (BIR Mix)

what a fucking track

vintage oldies,

The majority of the songs were produced in the 90′s (only 8 songs in here were made after 2000). Jam & Spoon’s Odyssey to Anyoona goes all the way back to 1994, and the intro track Paladian Dawn was produced over 16 years ago in 1995, so yeah i agree its not his normal showcase set its more vintage classics. But xpander is in there & its always good to hear that awesome tune.

Markus Schulz Classic Showcase 2011

I normally really enjoy Markus Schulz's Classic Showcase mixes, much more so than the rubbish that Armin produces each year with his Year End Mixes that change track every 30 seconds... but after listening to the first 15 minutes of this I'm really not finding anything special.

It could be any faceless, bland DJ that produced this uninspiring mix. It doesn't have the Schulz appeal that his previous mixes have had. Even if his Classic Showcases are more radio-friendly than his usual sets, they still have something that makes them stand out... his mixing is always flawless and his track selection is normally inspiring. But this time, it's just not doing anything for me so far.

Maybe I'm just not in the right kind of mood. Will keep listening, and maybe listen again tomorrow and see if I find it any better.

Thanks for uploading, by the way :-)
