Oh.. My.. God..! The electronic music fans had to wait about 4 months till this next mission event, but what an event it was! I stepped in the hall with my heart all banging from the "warm-up" music that was played and from the emotion of getting to see "thelightsout man" himself. First of all, the night got opened by two of our best mixers, Gubanu, who entertained for an hour, gathering the crowd near the stage with quite some prog. and hard stuff, and then our very own best DJ, Rhadoo, came up and started making everyone close their eyes, getting us ready with aqua sounds over deep basslines or drum-mad tracks, which kept us hot and even hotter at the end.

Unfortunately, I missed Lawler's entrance, but everyone said it was a blast and i soon realised that by hearing the mix afterwards. Tracks like Donna Summer's "I feel love" (the original stuff!) Or Polekat's "Dancing Queen" kept coming to us and a certain moment I swear I had tears in my eyes, I think it was right about when he threw in "Give me love.. Give me love.. Give me love.." (I think everyone knows what I mean). I've never seen such a delirious crowd in Romania (since Tiesto, maybe), the people were getting ready to break the fences in front of the stage, all their hands coming up at Lawler, and his magic coming right back at us.. Very hard, adapting himself to the Romanian audience, Steve did entertain for about three hours or even more, never letting us breathe, never letting us stay still.. He always seems to find something in his vinyl case to make us scream, like the twisting of lyrics from tracks such as Green Velvet - La La Land. When he finally came off the stage, everyone had their eyes still closed, dreaming and dancing for the next man, Dj Pagal, e regular rebel in Romania, who played something between progressive and very old school (e.g. Prodigy's "Smack my bitch up). Fantastic.. We left around 5:30 and we were so tired that we didn't get to go at the after-hours party, where Hybrid (as I understood) did a heel of a job.

Congratulations to Steve Lawler for knowing how to keep up for more than 3 hrs. A very difficult crowd with commercial and yet underground-ish tracks. And also congratulations to our local boys, who rose up to everyone expectations, by playing next to one of the best DJs in the world and never letting down.

We expect the next "Mission", but I think the promoters will have to work quite hard to make it as great as this one, with Steve Lawler live in Bucharest!
