nothing beats jdj 70

Listened to that again today, what a true journey. Coldcut could not identify half the tracks they used....because they are too old and they use so many samples that have no clearance....

I think they used vinyl

I think they used vinyl records to make this. And it was probably recorded off the radio to a cassette tape. I could be wrong though... :P

cool mix from back in the day

great stuff! lots of tunes from the JDJ 70 minutes of musical madness mix

This is Cold Cut on Kiss fm

This is Cold Cut's Solid Steel show from the days when Kiss was a really good pirate station (Colin Dale and Favour) and not the inane commercial station it has degenerated into today. These guys are probably the most underrated act in UK electronic music in my view - some of their sounds have been awesome. Unbelievably they didn't get to do an Essential Mix until 2006, 20 years after they got going.

Interesting....

I thought i recognised Human League - Being Boiled (1978) in there amongst other stuff i hadnt heard for a long time.

heavy...

...corking mix, very hefty with light overtones of 80's synthpop (that actually really add!).
